Cox provided a monthly safety lunch with prizes if there had been no accidents or near misses. Safety infractions noted by QA or District Safety personnel were always minor in nature and corrected immediately. Cox maintained a zero tolerance for alcohol and drug use on or near the job site and ensured that message was conveyed to everyone on site. All of the Site Management Team took an active role in the enforcement of safety.

Cox Construction Company maintained a very safe work environment and was proactive in enforcing safety requirements throughout the duration of the project. The EM-385-1-1 safety manual, OSHA 1910 and OSHA 1926 were strictly enforced by the Contractor. There were zero accidents throughout the life of the contract. Contractor's cooperation and responsiveness was outstanding and the job-site was always kept clean. Their professional conduct and timely resolution of the subcontractor's issues and implementation of their safety plan contributed to a safe and very successful project. Contractor's contributions and pro-active approach to safety enforcement was recognized during the site visit by Sacramento District Commander, COL Light.

Contractor maintained an excellent safety record on this project with no lost time accidents. Contractor assigned a safety officer who provided safety briefings and updates weekly. All safety issues were dealt with in a timely and professional manner. Safety officer also strictly enforced the use of personal protective equipment.
