Cox Construction Co.'s original contract for the SR 125 Operations Center was construction of the Building to five feet outside the utilities. The subsequent project add-ons were fast tracked. There were two major numerous minor additions to our contract. The two major additions to the contract were the site parking lot and roadway, which included site utilities from the property line to the building, landscape, irrigation, concrete paving, asphalt paving, striping and sealing. The second major change was the completion of the 1/3 mile extension of the public road (La Media Road) for the city of San Diego. This work included demolition, earthwork, sewer line extension, water main installation, development of recycled water distribution system, fire water installation, storm drain installation, curb, gutter and sidewalk, cement treated base, asphalt paving, striping and signage. Time extensions were due to the late design and award of the two major contract additions described below.

“It was refreshing to work with a contractor that consistently exhibited the quality, coordination and commitment to delivering the project as required by the owner. As the owner’s representative on commercial and contractual matters, I was also pleased with the manner in which Cox Construction coordinated with its subcontractors and vendors. This was a fast tracked, complex project that [Cox] dealt with, with demonstrated experience.”
